VR ANNOUNCES NEW LINEUP... The VR family welcomes Brad Gillis and James Rivera to the band! The veteran, all-star lineup is now complete. Brad Gillis (Ozzy Osbourne, Night Ranger) returns to metal and beyond with VR for the next studio CD and tour. Brad blew everyone away when he took over for the late Randy Rhoads touring with Ozzy in 82 & 83 and did all the guitar work on the “Speak of the Devil – Live” and then went on to platinum success with Night Ranger. His mind bending guitar playing is perfect for the VR guitar team and is sure to provide some scorching riff exchanges! James Rivera (Helstar, Flotsam & Jetsam) joins VR bringing soaring vocals and a true metal spirit to the band. James has performed, recorded and toured with many legendary metal outfits. He brings a powerful sound and creativity. A true pro, James has the tools to carry on in the VR legacy. “This is truly a new and exciting time in VR. I look forward to unleashing this new animal on the next CD and tour! The chemistry between the 5 of us is wicked!” says Geoff. The recording sessions for the new CD will start in January '06. New sound clips from the new CD coming soon! Look for the new CD and for VR on tour in 2006! * * * Dave Starr's personal thoughts on Mark McGee NOT rejoining VR:.I do not think Mark really had any honest intention of joining VR at this time. Even though he came down to play with us twice over the last few weeks. He played great, but I did not feel the magic, energy, or desire from him. After 12 years apart, I thought that this would be a real special opportunity for the 4 of us. I was wrong. The 2nd time Mark came down, after we played, he told us his feelings and basically made demands on the band that were impossible for us to meet (and he already knew this). I am talking about financial and artistic demands. This way he can say that he "at least" came down to try and work things out with us, but an agreement was not reached. This looks better then for him to never have come down at all. So in closing, Marks return to VR at this time was never meant to be. Mark knew this long ago, we did not. I just wish he could have told us this months ago. I still consider Mark to be a member of the VR family and I hope that some day we can work together again. They say one door closes and another door opens. Now, in comes Brad Gillis to the VR family. I have known Brad for 25 years, and I have a great deal of respect for him. He is a true guitar legend, and a guy who brings much to the band. I am very excited about the times we have ahead of us.
