AARDSCHOK Festival Review of Vicious Rumors
and interview with Larry Howe
| Though the AARDSHOCK
Festival 1988 had a very strong bill, not all of the
bands could be headliners. Still there had to be one with
the task to open the show, and this time the band was
Vicious Rumors. VR have just released their second album
"Digital Dictator" and so most of the material
they played was from that album. But the first album
"Soldiers of the Night" didn't stay untouched.
Songs like "In Fire" and "Blitz the
World" sounded much heavier then on the album. Which
was characteristic for Vicious Rumors wild and energetic
show. With leading parts for Excellent frontman Carl
Albert and guitarist Geoff Thorpe and Mark McGee, Vicious
Rumors gave a show that is properly speaking too good for
an opener on a Festival! They deserved better.
EXORCIST: What will the new songs be like? LARRY: It is somewhat in the same style as Digital Dictator. We have some great songs with even more vocal and harmony stuff, I like these songs because I like singing very much. It's gonna be different, but not to different of course. It depends on what label signs us. But we won't follow any orders...from NOBODY!!! We have been approached by a few major labels. Something is going on with MCA, but I don't think it will work out. We are looking at a Roadrunner deal right now, we are just holding out for the best offer. EXORCIST: Geoff has said that there will be a video for the song Digital Dictator, how is that going? LARRY: We are working on
it right now. We would like to have Richard Reese direct
it. He has done video's with Whitsnake and..........blah
- Michael Jackson! He has done some really good stuff, he
is a great technician so we want him. Notes : Hey Larry, how was the video for Digital Dictator?? I never saw it!!.........Dave Starr :) 8-31-2000 |
